The national congress of firefighters of France in 2020 will take place in Marseille at Parc Chanot on an innovative territory, in an exceptional setting where all the assets of the Bouches-du-Rhône department gathered. It will not only be a highlight for the 250,000 firefighters in France but also a landmark event for the national civil security projet. A project under the aegis of the National Federation of Firefighters of France, led by the association « Organizing Committee of the 127th National Congress of Firefighters of France ».

Thanks to its excellent accessibility and its great location in the city center, the convention and exhibition center located in Parc Chanot offers 7 exhibition buildings which makes a total space of 60 000 m2 and 2 large esplanades. It will entirely be dedicated to the « Marseille 2020 » congress.

This exceptional location will allow all delegates who would like to participate at the congress, to come to Marseille by train and to join easily the Congress site as well as the hotels. This, without any particular needs to have a car and they can even opt for completely clean modes of transport which will be offered at the entrance of Parc Chanot.

Marseille’s hotel capacity amounts to 9,434 rooms, many of which are connected by public transport to Parc Chanot, to which should be added the ressources of neighboring towns. The commercial and catering offer is commensurate with a major tourist center.

The Bouches-Du-Rhône department offers a large amount of tourist and cultural opportunities alongside the congress : MUCEM, visit to the Calanques, Chateau d’If, Regards de Provence museum, Vieille Charité, Stade Orange Vélodrome, etc.

Highway access

Marseille is the highway crossroad between Spain, Italy and Northern Europe. 3 highways connecting Spain, Italy and Northern Europe pass through Marseille : A7, A55 and A50:

  • North highway A7 - A51: to the airport, Aix en Provence, Lyon, Paris, Bruxelles
    Exit number 36 : follow Menpenti, Cinq Avenues, Satde Velodrome, Parc Chanot
  • Coastal highway A55: to the airport, Aix,Fos, Martigues, Arles, Monptellier, Toulouse, Barcelone
    Follow the tunnel Prado Carénage, Stade Vélodrome.
  • East highway A50: to Cassis, Toulon, Nice, Milan, Turin, Gènes
    Follow the city center, the beach.

In Marseille intra muros, the Prado-Carénage tunnel and the Prado South tunnel allow:

  • A direct link between the A55 & A50 highways
  • A quick access from the A55 to Parc Chanot
